Welcome to Clare High School
Clare High is a leading
academic Year 7-12 secondary school with approximately 500 students
primarily from viticulture and agricultural backgrounds. The school has
10
feeder schools, both public and private. Many students also
transition to the school from
the broader district to access the wide
choice of curriculum options.
In 2010, the school will offer National Certification courses in automotive, engineering, cabinetry, general carpentry, wet trades, hospitality and agriculture. The school enjoys strong community support and over the past five years its academic performance at the highest level (Year 12), has improved greatly, surpassing the state average in many indicator areas.
Approximately 60 per cent of all graduates elect to undertake post-secondary study at a tertiary institution (compared to the state average of approximately 25 per cent). The school has a clearly defined performance and improvement agenda. There is a strong emphasis on curriculum development, student engagement and the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning. Its values of respect, achievement, relationships, involvement and education are embedded into the school culture.
